Our Process

Work Environment Assessment

Work Environment Assessment

When beginning your journey toward psychological health and safety (PH&S), it’s important to start with an understanding of your organization’s strengths, as well as challenge areas. We help you assess your work environment and identify strengths and areas for improvement as they pertain to the psychosocial factors in the Standard. Our MyWorkplaceHealth team can fully conduct the organizational assessment for you – or mentor and coach an internal champion at your company.

Our team conducts work environment assessments via employee surveys and organizational reviews created by founding members of the CSA Technical Committee.

Development of
PH&S Strategy

Development of
PH&S Strategy

Our team works collaboratively with you to align your organization with the requirements outlined by the National Standard – ensuring adherence to best practice guidelines for workplace psychological health and safety, ultimately mitigating employer liability.

Using a data-driven assessment approach, we develop an evidence-based, customized PH&S strategy that embeds a psychological health and safety management system (PHSMS) across every stage of the employment life cycle.

We place a strong value on supporting, coaching, and/or mentoring your team members to develop your organization’s internal proficiency with the Standard, and can provide as much or as little consultative support required to ensure success!

Implementation & Evaluation of Actions

Implementation & Evaluation of Actions

Once a work environment assessment has been conducted and a cohesive organizational PH&S strategy has been developed, we work with you to implement actions – and, importantly, evaluate whether they are having the intended outcomes.

We plan and support you in the implementation of recommendations that build on existing strengths, while targeting identified areas of organizational challenge.

We value data-driven approaches and can coach, support and mentor your internal champions to ensure that relevant outcome metrics are determined and collected. We provide as-needed consultative support throughout implementation and beyond.

What People Are Saying

Dr. Samra’s knowledge and expertise around the Standard, PH&S, and mental health in the workplace – as well as her enthusiasm and passion for the topic – is clearly evident. I highly recommend Dr. Samra to anyone looking for an engaging and informative listen on the topics surrounding mental health in the workplace.

Nancy MacKay, CEO at MacKay CEO Forums

Dr. Samra was one of the keynote speakers at the conference titled “Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace” and was certainly one of the most profound and impressionable speakers I have heard. Dr. Samra’s presentation was grounded in empirical study, practical application and delivered with exceptional confidence. I continue to reflect back on her comments as she definitely left me with many takeaways that I will imbed in my own practice. I would describe her speech as one that will challenge me professionally as well as personally, but more importantly it will move me to serve my workplace and community more effectively and with a better understanding.

Ben Grebinski, Executive Director at Saskatchewan League of Educational Administrators, Directors, and Superintendents

Dr. Samra was the Keynote Speaker at the Mentally Healthy Workplace Awards for the Canadian Mental Health Association, Kelowna Branch. This event celebrates businesses who are fostering a culture of mental health for employees, but it is also meant to inform and incite attendees to action within their own workplaces. With more than 220 attendees representing over 50 business professionals from around the Central Okanagan region – Dr. Samra hit the mark 100%! Her presentation was exactly what we needed; it spoke to those who were attending for the first time as well as those who had come each of the 4 years prior. We immediately received feedback that her keynote address was “the best one yet”.

Jessica Samuels, Communication and Events Manager at Canadian Mental Health Association, Kelowna
